How processing works
Each tool is a program that loads into your browser and runs on your device. Your PDF is read from your disk into the tab's memory, and the result is written back to your downloads.
Check it yourself
Open your browser's developer tools, choose the Network tab and run any tool. You will see no request carrying your file.
