Use this page to password protect PDF files so they open only with the password you set. You can encrypt PDF files with AES-256, which is how you lock PDF files before sending them.
Files stay on this device. Nothing is uploaded.
Store the password somewhere you control. If it is lost, the file cannot be opened, and nobody here can recover it. The download is a new file; your original on disk stays as it was unless you replace it yourself.
Use a password you would not put in the file name or in the same email as the PDF. Locking is for copies you hand to one person, not for a stamp that merely says "confidential". Open the locked file once in a reader so you know the password works.
remove a PDF password
Take the password off a PDF you already know how to open.
merge a PDF
Stack several documents into one file, in the order you pick.
split a PDF
Cut one file into smaller files by ranges or a set number of pages.
delete pages from a PDF
Take out the pages you do not want and keep the rest as one file.
